Have you ever looked at your living room and thought, This wall could do so much more? That was exactly the problem we faced when designing a custom entertainment unit for a client who wanted a space for their record player, vinyl collection, and TV. The challenge? The wall had been underutilized, leaving wasted space and a mismatched mix of furniture that didn’t quite work together. Instead of settling for a standard media console, we decided to go all in—creating a built-in unit that not only housed everything perfectly but also became a stunning feature of the room.

The key to making this work was precise planning. We started by measuring everything—the width of the TV, the dimensions of the record player, the height of the tallest vinyl sleeve, and even the depth needed for easy access. From there, we sketched out a design that ensured each item had a dedicated spot, from adjustable shelves for records to a sturdy surface for the turntable that minimized vibrations. We also incorporated closed storage to hide wires and accessories, keeping the space looking sleek and uncluttered.

The final result? A beautifully built-in entertainment unit that looks like it was always meant to be there. Every shelf is purposefully designed to fit the client’s collection, and the mix of open and closed storage makes the wall both functional and stylish. By utilizing the full width and height of the wall, we transformed a previously overlooked space into a focal point that not only works beautifully but also enhances the overall design of the living room. If you're dreaming of a custom entertainment unit, the key is in the details—measure, plan, and design with purpose!
