A complete kitchen renovation for a growing family in Nanaimo, this two-tone design is a masterclass in balancing openness with definition. The open-concept layout called for a functional yet visually striking solution — achieved through contrasting upper and lower cabinet finishes that add depth without overwhelming the space.

The central kitchen island anchors the room with generous bar seating, creating a natural gathering point for family meals and casual entertaining. A sink positioned to take in the view brings the outside in, while the tall ceiling height was fully embraced with glass-fronted upper cabinets and integrated lighting — a detail that draws the eye upward and adds warmth to the entire space.

This Vancouver Island kitchen renovation was coordinated entirely by certified interior designer Adrianna Golinsky, from layout planning and cabinet selection through to trade coordination and final installation.
